We have 2 computers connected by a crossover cable, which are both connected to a able modem. We are planning on buying a laptop soon, so we want to go wireless. We really need to beef up our firewall. What equipment should we buy to implement a hardware firewall? Thanks. I'm supposed to bedoing this for a school project but I had no clue! We're supposed to list what hardware we should use and everything.

So, my windows firewall is on, but I want my avast internet security to be my main firewall. Normally when people change antivirus, the firewall of the antivirus is automatically changed to the main one isn't it? When I disable the windows firewall, it doesn't say that the firewall now is the one from avast. My avast firewall is on.

I have Windows Firewall. I play Warcraft III and I've asked around how to create a game, and to have people join it. When I create a game, others are unable to join it. Everyone that I've asked that can host games says that it has something to do with not having firewall on. Having firewall completely off is too risky for me. I don't completely understand it, but I want to know how to do this and have firewall on, letting it in, but still keeping everything else out.

It is not Norton Personal Firewall or the Windows Firewall both of which have Limewire as an exception. Yet Limewire indicates the presence of a firewall. I have another computer using my connection via wireless. Could that be it and what do I do to remove the firewall?

I've done pretty much everything. Update java. Add Limewire turbo to the exceptions list on the windows fiewwall. I've turned off the firewall. My antivirus is not blocking it either. And still theres a god dam firewall still blocking it! It's happened before and all i did was turn off firewall and it worked, and now it just won't work!

I have been testing several versions of firewall, bitdefender, kaspersky, kerio, sunbelt, and some more. For now, I find that Bitdefender wins the gold medal, in my opinion. But still the antivirus within Bitdefender is not that powerful. I installed Avast 4 and tried to use only the firewall in bitdefender (disabling the antivirus of bitdefender) but conflicts happen between the two softwares when loading windows. Do you people, know the best firewall please?

Firewall won't let limewire through when i went to my firewall settings and made it possible for lime wire to get through why is that? Is it harmful I dont wanna take firewall off But that may be the only way please help thanksz!

I have a network for internet and file and printer sharing. The file and printer sharing only works when I turn off my firewall. Internet works always. Does someone know what firewall rules I should add to make file and printer sharing work with my firewall enabled?
